Story
In 1876, eleven miners were killed by a grizzly bear. Corrie Swanson investigates their remains and discovers something shocking. The village leaders try to stop her to keep the dark past secret.
Pendergast arrives just in time as the arsonist begins setting deliberate fires in which families are trapped. During the investigation, Pendergast finds the lost Sherlock Holmes story, which may be the key to solving both the past and the modern crimes.
