Description
Jacob Jankowski, an orphan without means, unexpectedly finds shelter on a dilapidated train where the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth takes place. As a nearly graduated veterinarian, he is responsible for the care of the circus animals during the difficult years of the Great Depression.
Storylines and characters
Jacob meets Marlena, the talented equestrienne who is married to Augustus, a charismatic but ruthless animal trainer. He also gets to know Rosie, an unmanageable elephant who is the last hopeful highlight of this third-rate traveling show.
