About the Triple Layered Business Model Canvas
The Triple Layered Business Model Canvas is a clear and accessible model to understand the 'new economy'. It consists of three layers:
- Economic layer: describes how value is created, realized, and delivered. This layer is based on the well-known Business Model Canvas.
- Ecological layer: focuses on environmentally friendly aspects.
- Social layer: addresses social responsibility areas.
Each layer contains nine building blocks, explained with examples from real companies.
The personal layer
Unique to this book is the addition of a fourth layer: the personal layer. This is based on Business Model You and focuses on personal development within the purpose economy. With this, you take responsibility for yourself, others, and the future. This layer also works on Inner Development Goals that promote sustainable skills.
Approach and application
The book is not intended to be read in one go, but to be used per layer or building block. It contains exercises for practical application and many examples. Each chapter ends with a step-by-step plan to complete, analyze, and discuss the layer.
