The Karluk Expedition (1913)
The Karluk set sail in 1913 with the largest scientific team ever to the North Pole, in search of an unknown continent. Shortly after departure, winter began and the ship was driven off course by storms. Frozen in the ice, the expedition was abandoned by the leader. Hundreds of kilometers from civilization, the survivors had to fight against hunger, snow blindness, disease, and internal conflicts. After nearly twelve months, twelve crew members were rescued, thanks to their captain Bartlett, who traveled on foot over the ice and through Siberia to seek help.
