His Long Island mansion teems day and night with glittering revelers who toast, dance, and speculate about his mysterious character. Although young, handsome, and wealthy, Gatsby often feels alone even in the midst of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance, waiting for something that no one knows. Behind the dazzling façade, he hides an unspeakable secret and a destructive obsession that will bring his world crashing down.
