About this book
Scriptwriting is not a talent you just have or a skill you only learn from a book. It is a craft that you master by writing, reflecting, and rewriting. This book supports that process by bringing together theory, analysis, and practical aspects of scriptwriting.
You will learn to gain insight into the basics of storytelling and dramatic characters. The texts invite you to critically study scripts and films. Constructive criticism is indispensable in this, even though it can sometimes be difficult. The chapters address both the creative and analytical aspects of the profession in a coherent manner.
This book is not intended as a step-by-step manual, but can be read from beginning to end or used as a reference work.
