Contents

Since 12,000 years ago, agriculture has formed unique ecosystems, ranging from annual crops to agroforestry. This book describes our current knowledge of these complex habitats and highlights the increasing pressure on agricultural habitats caused by global population growth and changing agricultural practices. Agroecosystems cover nearly 40% of the land area and shape landscapes worldwide.

The book goes in depth into environmental issues and provides a summary of the basic and applied ecology of agricultural systems, offering a valuable new perspective on agroecosystems.
