A human, light and innovative approach for children, young people and their parents
From disorder to perspective in five conversations was developed by child and adolescent psychiatrist Monique Verburg. This 5-conversation method offers an approach beyond labels such as ADHD and ASD, and goes further than purely medical solutions.
Methodology and objective
The method focuses on alleviating suffering, restoring perspective and recognizing the wholeness and growth potential of every child, young person and family. The approach is less problem-oriented and places the human at the center instead of the label.
Characteristics
- Does not start from disorders or diagnoses
- Promotes insight among parents, young people and professionals
- Stimulates wholeness, growth and possibilities
Areas of application

Language and level
This method is suitable for professionals and parents working with children and young people in the Dutch language (NT2), level B1-C2.
