Introduction to Piet Paaltjens
François HaverSchmidt (1835-1894) introduced his alter ego Piet Paaltjens with a poetic description of a life story that is difficult to reconstruct. He emphasized the mysterious background of Paaltjens, about whom little is known, and called it a time full of uncertainty.
