Theo Notteboom is Chair Professor at the Maritime Institute of Ghent University, part-time professor at Antwerp Maritime Academy and the University of Antwerp, and visiting researcher at Shanghai Maritime University.

Athanasios Pallis is professor in Ports and Maritime Economics and Policy at the University of Piraeus and Chair of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME).

Jean-Paul Rodrigue is a professor of Geography at Hofstra University in New York, specializing in maritime logistics and transport.
