The textbook texts offer a glimpse into life in a small Swedish town over the course of several weeks, with events reflected in the local newspaper. The reader follows the work of journalists from interview to finished article. Besides standard news articles, there are also notes, short factual texts, short comic strips, and surveys. Each chapter concludes with a portrait of a well-known Swede, often a historical figure.
"På Svenska! 3" encourages critical reading skills and self-reflection. Most texts serve as a basis for discussions and as models for individual writing. Texts for listening exercises are provided at the end of the book. The exercises in the workbook include oral and written exercises that develop vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. A short writing guide covers various writing formats and inspires individual writing.
After studying "På svenska! 3," students are expected to reach level C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). An MP3 CD with texts from the textbook is included, but the audio is also available online.
