The Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) was officially changed in September 2005. There are four independent levels within the DELF: DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1, and DELF B2. These designations correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This book focuses on the DELF A1 level. The suggested training activities are designed for young adults and adults. They offer a balance between comprehension and language production skills, both spoken and written.
The A1 level, known as "introductory" or "exploratory," assesses the fundamental skills required to use the language personally. It includes the ability to answer simple questions about oneself, one's hometown, acquaintances, and possessions. It also enables users to express themselves using simple sentences in concrete and familiar situations. An accompanying booklet contains the solutions and transcripts of the recordings.
