Modern Cosmology, Third Edition Scott Dodelson is an authoritative textbook that offers a comprehensive introduction to modern cosmology. It covers the homogeneous Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker universe theory and diverse fundamental topics such as dark energy, big bang nucleosynthesis, recombination, and dark matter. The book also discusses the evolution of fluctuations in the universe via the Einstein-Boltzmann equations and their impact on observations, including the CMB acoustic peaks, polarization, gravitational lensing, and the BAO standard ruler.

The third edition provides updated insights with new sections on gravitational waves, line-intensity mapping, and advanced analysis techniques. In addition, existing chapters on CMB secondaries have been expanded, and figures and explanations have been revised to improve pedagogy.
