Today, in an imaginary land in black Africa... After many years of study in Europe, Ayané, known as the "daughter of the stranger," returns to Eku, her birth village, to be at her mother's bedside. In this region, surrounded by hills, amidst the timeless savanna and living according to ancient traditions, great unrest reigns. So-called patriots from the north, angry and vengeful, penetrate deep into Eku and quarantine the village. Under the guise of an ideology advocating a return to a glorious and mythical Africa, the militia members prepare a long and terrifying ceremony. The night promises to be a difficult one for Ayané.
