This textbook, written by Peter W. Milonni, provides an extensive introduction to the operation and applications of lasers. The second edition focuses on the latest developments and applications, with special attention to optical physics. It is designed for physicists, chemists, optical scientists, engineers, and advanced undergraduate students.
Description
Although the basic principles of lasers have remained the same for many years, interest has shifted to new types of lasers. This book covers the most recent developments and applications in laser technology and emphasizes practical applications in optical physics. Its self-contained explanations make it suitable for both study and research.
