An old man stands at the stern of a boat. He holds a light suitcase and a newborn child, even lighter than the suitcase, in his arms. The old man's name is Monsieur Linh, and he is now the only one who still remembers that name. As he stands at the stern of the boat, he watches his land, the land of his ancestors and the deceased, slowly recede from view. The child sleeps in his arms. The land fades and shrinks, until it finally disappears into the horizon. Monsieur Linh watches it for a long time, despite the wind that blows and shakes him like a puppet.
