About the author
Charles I. Jones is a professor of economics at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a researcher at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and co-editor of Econometrica. Dietrich Vollrath is a professor and department chair of economics at the University of Houston. His research focuses on economic growth and he has been awarded the Ross Lence Teaching Award.
