Growing old has its challenges. Mr. De Vries experiences this daily, now that he lives in Huize Avondrood, a nursing home. But then an unexpected encounter causes a stir: his new neighbor turns out to be an old acquaintance. This brings back a flood of memories and deeply confuses him. Mr. De Vries tries to organize his thoughts: could it really be Mr. Vlot from his old school? After all, there are more people with the surname Vlot. Yet, he can't shake the thought. What if it really is Mr. Vlot, the man he could never stand because of his arrogance?
