Description

The Penguin English Library Edition of Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad

The novel explores themes such as imperialism and the human psyche. As Marlow's boat moves deeper into the dark heart of the African jungle, his faith in civilization and in himself wavers. The work is widely regarded as an essential indictment of the excesses of imperialism.

This edition is part of the well-known Penguin English Library, a collection of one hundred influential English literary works from the eighteenth century to the First World War.
