Adeline Virginia Woolf (1882-1941)
Woolf was an influential English modernist writer and a pioneer in the stream of consciousness technique. She played an important role in the feminist criticism of the 1970s and inspired many women. During her life, she had several nervous breakdowns, possibly due to bipolar disorder. In 1941, at the age of 59, she ended her life by drowning in the River Ouse.
