Towards the finish line: Dutch B2 for German speakers
Interest in the Netherlands is growing among Germans. Many want to learn Dutch and deepen their knowledge of the culture. This is reflected in the growing number of German students studying in the Netherlands. Although the languages of both countries share similarities, a good knowledge remains essential for solid language skills.
With the "Op naar de eindstreep" (On to the Finish Line) method, highly educated German speakers can improve their Dutch to B2 level, perfect for preparing for the State Examination. During this process, students discover more about the Netherlands and its culture.
Each of the twelve chapters in this method focuses on a Dutch province and a specific theme. A quiz introduces students to the provinces. They then broaden their vocabulary with current affairs. The "Performing" section focuses on all skills, with an emphasis on speaking exercises. Each chapter concludes with grammar and vocabulary practice and writing exercises.
This publication is accompanied by a supporting website. It contains word lists, exercises, multiple-choice tests, and the answers. A teacher's manual with copy sheets and tests is also available.
