Content and structure
The book contains important case law, legislation, and other sources from English, French, and German law as main representatives of European legal systems. In addition, EU legislation and case law are addressed, as well as excerpts from the Principles of European Contract Law. Comparisons are made with international guidelines such as the Vienna Sales Convention, UNIDROIT Principles, and the Draft Common Frame of Reference. The selected materials are arranged in such a way that they promote comparative study, supported by annotations and overviews from an international team.
New developments
The third edition includes recent adjustments within the EU, such as the Stranded proposal for a Common European Sales Law and developments around the digital single market. National reforms are also included, including the important changes to the French Civil Code (2016 and 2018), the British Consumer Rights Act 2015, and new case law.
