How are speech sounds, syllables, words, and sentences produced? What can go wrong in speaking and listening, for example due to a foreign accent or a speech disorder? Which acoustic properties are decisive for sounds, words, and sentences? And how can differences in sound, rhythm, and melody be investigated for a listener? Additionally, it covers how computers can be trained to understand and produce speech.
