Virgil (70–19 BC)
Virgil was an influential Roman poet known for his masterful works. His Eclogues deal with rural life and love, while Georgics describe agriculture, trees, livestock, and bees. His Aeneid is an epic poem about the origin of Rome. The poems from the Appendix Vergiliana are traditionally, but often incorrectly, attributed to Virgil.
