In 2015, the structure of the Knowledge of Dutch Society (KNS) component of the integration exam was changed. The subject is divided into two parts: Knowledge of Dutch Society (KNM) and Orientation on the Dutch Labor Market (ONA). ONA is a new segment with specific learning objectives and a separate exam. This component helps newcomers orient themselves to the labor market early on after their arrival in the Netherlands. The "Working in the Netherlands" program is suitable for low-, medium-, and highly educated newcomers who wish to take the ONA exam component and is also part of the State Exam NT2 Program I and II. This program is at A2 level.
The "Working in the Netherlands" (WIN) method offers practice materials aimed at achieving ONA's objectives: newcomers must find a suitable position in the Dutch labor market and pass the exam. Three chapters teach students to gain a better understanding of the Dutch labor market, after which they formulate their personal career aspirations. Newcomers determine the requirements the Dutch labor market places on their profession and analyze whether their desired profession is achievable as a realistic career path. WIN also focuses on practical job application skills, such as networking, volunteering, writing resumes, and applying for jobs.
During the program, the immigrant builds a portfolio consisting of eight completed "results cards" developed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. Based on this portfolio, the Education Executive Agency (DUO) assesses whether the candidate is ready to take the exam. "Working in the Netherlands" offers a structured learning experience for education, work, and self-study, with Intertaal as a reliable provider guaranteeing fast delivery.
