When Colin's brother, Luke, becomes seriously ill with leukemia, he is determined to get the best possible help. Sent to live with family in London, he works to become the absolute best—first the Queen and, if that fails, the best cancer doctor in the world. He is assisted in this by a young man whose partner is dying of AIDS. Although the ending cannot be happy, it offers a certain joy, providing comfort and truth. The story is told with a wonderful sense of humor.
