QUITTER DAKAR - Suitable for ages B1 and up: Years after his mother's death, a young Frenchman returns to Dakar, the city where he grew up. His mother, Manuela, was a complex woman; sometimes loving and thoughtless, other times distant and seductive. She harbored a passion for Dakar and had a love affair there that brought her no happiness. By returning to Dakar after her death, he tries to relive his childhood memories and find meaning in his life. The question, however, is whether a new love story with Dakar is possible while simultaneously confronting his past.
