This material has been developed to support teachers in assessing the communicative competence of new students in the target language. This helps them place them in the appropriate course level.
The method presented by SGEL is designed according to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and comes from two experienced teachers from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
The tests consist of a series of 10 modular models, with the exception of the language test, which has 5 variants for skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This design allows for numerous combinations to assess both communicative activities and language skills.
The tests are aimed at students of Spanish as a foreign language, both at university and secondary school levels. The multiple-choice format allows all ELE students to assess themselves.
The language variety is Spanish from Spain, although the reading and listening modules also include texts from Latin American varieties.
