"My life is as broken as my face. My nose alone has twenty-seven fractures. Twenty-three are from boxing; four from my father. The most severe blows came from the person who should have taken me by the hand and said, 'I love you.'" Tim is considered a "bad influence." Abandoned by his mother and abused to the point of death by his father, he became a child of Child Protective Services at the age of five. From foster homes to re-education centers, from cruelty to humiliation, he encountered violence and hatred. Yet, his immense thirst for freedom and love would lead him through the streets of Paris, where, through chance encounters, he searched for a lost humanity and access to happiness. This poignant testimony to a shattered childhood is also a beautiful tribute to love, forgiveness, and life.
