A communicative approach to teaching Italian language and culture to foreign students, combining the study of pragmatics and grammar. This is the second edition of a successful curriculum, which has been updated and expanded thanks to your suggestions. This course has also become multimedia.
The course promotes passive language learning through activities that focus on the content of the language rather than on formal aspects. This allows students—especially those whose native language is similar to Italian—to acquire the language independently and quickly. The content is organized in a multidimensional syllabus structure, which has also been visually enhanced. The units are designed to offer a balanced interaction between the different syllabi. They focus evenly on the grammatical syllabus, the notional-functional approach, the lexical syllabus, phonetics, as well as communicative competence and cultural syllabuses.
This second edition presents several innovations:
• The course is now also available in digital format with keys to all activities.
• Photos and documents have been updated.
• New “Facciamo il punto” sections for reviewing previously learned communicative functions.
• New cultural files at the end of each unit.
• Focus on vocabulary.
• Formative assessments on vocabulary, language functions and grammar for students, and level tests for the teacher.
• Final Category Glossary.
• An extensive grammar section at the end of the volume.
• Authentic videos and extra activities.
