In his book "Der Traum vom großen Geld oder: Take the money and run!" (The Dream of Big Money or: Take the Money and Run!), Jürgen Banscherus compellingly and literary tells the story of three young people: Lina, Tom, and Jurij. They dream of freedom and want to break their monotonous lives with something valuable. The desire for wealth seems within reach, as if it were easy to grasp. Their fascination with Australia—the land of Ayers Rock and sun-drenched plains—increases their urge to escape. But in reality, they find themselves in a cold shed near a quarry. To escape their boring afternoons, they fantasize about robbing a bank to pay for their tickets to Australia; at first, it's just a game. However, an unforeseen turn of events turns their fictional idea into reality, and they find themselves with pockets full of money. What follows is a hasty escape, but just when their dream seems tangible, events slip beyond their control. As they journey through the November snow, the lines between loyalty and betrayal, love and hate, guilt and innocence blur.
