Nihongo: Basic Japanese Course

Nihongo is designed to develop Japanese language skills, particularly for travel to Japan or collaborations with Japanese partners. In recent years, the number of tourists from Belgium and the Netherlands to Japan has increased significantly, making this the ideal time to learn Japanese.

Course Contents:

The course consists of two parts: Nihongo 1 and Nihongo 2.

Each volume contains ten chapters, written entirely in rōmaji to accelerate the learning process.

Nihongo covers basic use of the Japanese language at beginner level (A1–A2).

Suitable for self-study or classroom lessons.

Includes cultural sections in each chapter to enrich your knowledge of Japanese culture.

Sarah Van Camp, a graduate of KU Leuven in Japanese Studies, has over 25 years of experience teaching Japanese to beginners. She currently works as a translator and language instructor in Antwerp. The course was supported by Goh Kawai, a professor at Hokkaido University, and meticulously edited in collaboration with Professor Akiko Tashiro and her doctoral students Yoshimi Hidaka and Rei Kataoka.
