The third edition of Managing Employee Performance and Reward: Systems, Practices, and Prospects has been thoroughly revised and updated by a new team of four authors. This text introduces a renewed conceptual framework that utilizes systems thinking and a dual model of strategic alignment and psychological engagement. The chapters balance research evidence with practical application and, in this new edition, have taken on a more applied and technical approach. In addition, the text includes specific chapters on conceptual frameworks, base compensation, and individual recognition and reward. "Reality check" frameworks with practical examples and current issues related to strategic alignment, employee engagement, organizational equity, and workplace diversity have been added. Furthermore, a new chapter focuses on new developments in performance and reward practices and research. This chapter emphasizes the megatrends of technological transformation within "Industry 4.0," new economic forms and relationships emerging from the gig economy, and generational shifts.
