The textbook is divided into two parts: the class book and the workbook. An audio CD with spoken texts and phonetic exercises is included. Each learning unit consists of several sections with specific objectives. "Entriamo in tema" (Entry in the subject) is an introductory activity to motivate students, followed by "Comunichiamo," which is usually a text to work on. There are also sections for vocabulary development, learning grammar, and exploring Italian culture. At the end of each unit, you'll find "Si dice così," which summarizes the expressions and communicative functions covered, as well as a grammar overview. Between the units, there are alternating quizzes and self-assessment forms. The workbook units mirror those of the class book.
Since this is an A1/A2 level manual, some classic topics are covered: starting with personal introductions, followed by work, visiting a café, giving directions, accommodations, discussing the weather, family, and more. Language reflection, metalinguistic activities, communication skills, and insights into Italian culture are well-balanced. Grammar is taught using an inductive method, allowing students to independently discover and recognize rules.
