The workbook is designed to deepen and review the material from the course book. It offers a wide selection of exercises that, in addition to grammar, vocabulary, and expressions, also include contrastive exercises. These exercises allow you to compare the new language with a foreign language you already know and your native language. There are also exercises focusing on phonetics and study-related vocabulary, as well as self-monitoring and self-evaluation exercises. These latter elements tie in with the portfolio concept of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At the end of each module is a four-page worksheet that can be used for both independent study and in class. Here, we review the themes and material from the entire module, emphasizing skills development and additional cultural information. Each module concludes with a project proposal designed to be seamlessly integrated into the learning process.
