Ambarabà is an Italian language program designed for primary school children (ages 6-10). The curriculum is based on successful experiments conducted by the Institut Pedagogico di Bolzano and can be used both abroad with non-Dutch-speaking children and in Italy for monolingual and multilingual classes.
Ambarabà's teaching approach is characterised by:
- The richness and variety of linguistic input, which ensures that children are continuously exposed to authentic and living language;
- A strong focus on oral skills and listening, supported by original music tracks and audio fragments composed by professional musicians;
- The emphasis on interactive and collaborative learning processes, with systematic production and comprehension activities offered in pairs or groups;
- The focus on physical and multisensory engagement of children through techniques inspired by Total Physical Response;
- The use of clear, vivid and direct illustrations that work continuously with the text to stimulate the imagination and make the vocabulary understandable.
Ambarabà 2 is suitable for second-year primary school students.
The teaching material consists of:
- A student book,
- Workbooks,
- A teacher's guide and two CDs, one with songs (with original music and lyrics) and one for listening exercises.
