Allegro Nuovo – Learning Italian with a Stable Structure
Allegro Nuovo is the revised version of the well-known Allegro method, which focuses on learning Italian through communicative means. This updated edition offers a clear structure and well-organized learning material, making it suitable for both classroom and independent study.
The method consists of a textbook with an introductory chapter, nine thematic lessons called "Lezioni," and three review chapters or "Ripassi." Each "Lezione" begins with an introductory page containing learning objectives and a specific assignment. Students are introduced to the theme through four to six units, in which they can practice listening, reading, speaking, and writing extensively. Language functions and vocabulary are presented in context for effective language acquisition.
Every three Lezioni are followed by a Ripasso, in which students are introduced to the cultural aspects of the Italian language and test their skills through a game activity, all in Italian. This is supported by appendices with a grammar overview, Italian-Dutch glossaries, and pronunciation instructions. The listening texts are accessible via the Intertaal Augmented app, available on both the App Store and Google Play.
Teachers can use a free, downloadable manual that provides teaching information and additional exercises. This manual serves as additional support during teaching or supervising the learning process.
